receive mails and put them into MySQL database with Ubuntu vServer

i have a Ubuntu vserver and a Domain. my vservers url is something like:
vserver.blabla.net my domain is something like badabum.de
what i want to do is, i want to be able to receive emails that are being
sent to someName@badabum.de these emails will be not send to any inbox or
so, basically what i need this for is to get some informations out of the
emails, as they will contain data i need to put into my database, such as
userName, transactionsID and so on.
i'm really have no experience with ubuntu or vservers, also have no idea
about mail-servers.
in 3 weeks i only could find out that i probably might need Postfix? to
receive the emails? but then it comes to something like fully qualified
domain name, or so, i really have no clue where to get that from..
so my first question is, what do i need, to receive emails on my server,
and put the mail body into a database?(only the huge string, dont care
about html or so)
also im wondering if i'd need spam filter? cause, basically i wont access
any emails, ill just tage the text and filter necessary data from it,
after that, all emails that have been filtered will be deleted, so i might
not have to care about spams and viruses, right?:S
i really need this done until at least october, its for a important
project and i really have no clue how to get this done.. so a few answers
would mean the world..
